The Monsoon Semester of the CEPT Foundation Programme inculcates foundational design skills through sequential exercises focused on perfecting freehand and perspective drawing, visualizing and drawing complex compositions. Students learn to make technical drawings using orthographic projections, surface development and exploded views of complex objects; develop the skill of estimating sizes and begin to engage with anthropometrics. Ordering principles, colour theory, imaginative drawing and deciphering and interpreting styles help them develop more complex skills. Alongside, parallel exercises focus on describing objects and presenting their own work in writing, while guest speaker lectures offer exposure to other disciplines.

Drawing a series of geometric shapes and wireframes lead me to the final sheets of freehand drawing that is isometric and two-point perspective composition.

The perspective projections of the composition are drafted technically through Autocad. The models are developed using the skill acquired in surface development.

The axonometric composition of a dismantled spray bottle is drafted technically. The sheet also depicts the working principle of all the elements.

Different rules of organization are deciphered in the plan of Hagia Sophia.

All the pixelated sheets are hand-drawn with the use of poster colors. The accuracy of getting the same color as of the square and object in the rest two images was the task.

The color schemes are used to fill the composition made during freehand drawing. On the other hand, a mood board and the colour palette is created for the word ‘earthy’.

The collage and the poster is interpreted after deciphering the qualities of the personality.

Bringing imagination to the paper.

A variety of objects, furniture, building elements and spaces have been drawn proportionately by the help of gauged dimensions.

The sheet is a compilation of various sketches done during the semester.
