TThe CEPT Foundation Programme studio is an introduction for students fresh out of school to the rigor and work habits required by an undergraduate degree at CEPT University. The studio is conceptualized as a series of sequentially planned exercises, through which students develop skills and abilities, which are then deployed to address increasingly complex problems falling in four broad categories: visualize and draw, make and learn, anayse and interpret and conceptualise and represent. The exercises are designed to provide foundational skills for students across disciplines at CEPT, between which they maintain a balance. They also reflect an understanding that at the foundation level, these skills overlap to a large extent, and a varied array is of benefit to all students. The studio is taught through intensive 1–2 week long modules, focusing on a particular skill or ability, and a process that emphasizes ongoing feedback in addition to expert faculty lectures.

Freehand Drawing was a module in which we were encouraged to explore using our imagination in the form of subtracted shapes and solids.

Technical Drawing was a module where we explored constructing 3-D forms using drafting tools.

Model Making was a module in which we used our hands for the first time to create solids and figures out of card paper, clay and micro concrete.

Deciphering Type was a module where we explored typeface, how letters were constructed, and the different fonts used in the world around us.

Deciphering and Interpreting Styles was a module where we were assigned a designer, and explored their works, finally creating a poster using inspiration from them.

Gauging Sizes was a module in which we explored the usage of our body measurements as well as our eyes to understand sizing. This helped us to gauge the dimensions of bigger buildings and construct a plan of a selected part of the CEPT campus.

Colour Theory was a module where we experimented with the colour wheel and understood undertones through colour matching a pixelated image.
