TThe CEPT Foundation Programme studio is an introduction for students fresh out of school to the rigor and work habits required by an undergraduate degree at CEPT University. The studio is conceptualized as a series of sequentially planned exercises, through which students develop skills and abilities, which are then deployed to address increasingly complex problems falling in four broad categories: visualize and draw, make and learn, anayse and interpret and conceptualise and represent. The exercises are designed to provide foundational skills for students across disciplines at CEPT, between which they maintain a balance. They also reflect an understanding that at the foundation level, these skills overlap to a large extent, and a varied array is of benefit to all students. The studio is taught through intensive 1–2 week long modules, focusing on a particular skill or ability, and a process that emphasizes ongoing feedback in addition to expert faculty lectures.

the very first module in the semester. i made various kinds of freehand drawings including lines, shpaes, forms, compositions

the second module; a total contrast to the first. i made various matchbox compositions with accurate measurements and drafting

the third module comprised of model making with different kinds of materials and forms

the fourth module had us explore the various kinds of materials around our everyday objects and testing them

the fifth module in the semester, i took up stapler as my object of study and accurately measured its dimensions and drafted the same

the sixth module taught me how precisely an object, an open space can be gauged.

the seventh module was all about the general principles of any composition and what different compositions are used to mean various things

the eighth module was wholeheartedly COLOURS! everything about colours, schemes, shades, tones, tints colour compositions, etc

the ninth module delved into the structure and deciphering of typefonts and into the study of typography. here i drafted various letters and studied your structure and alignment

the last and final module of the semester was deciphering a certain style. i got Ar. Norman Foster and had to understand and interpret his style as best as i can and generate a poster in his style of work
