TERRITORIALITY : SETTLING WITHIN A LANDSCAPE In the case of indigenous communities of Zai and Aswali, North Western GhatsHuman settlements thrive because of the region’s ecosystem. It is impossible for a built environment to exist without an understanding of plants, soil, and water. (Otto, 2011).
The study is associated with the intangible values derived from the meanings of landscape highlighted by the landscape and culture markers, spatial results of occupations, and the emergence of specific attributes from the knowledge systems developed through generations. A Landscape is thought of as how the traits of parental/native landscapes are traced by its culture and reflected in aspects of inhabiting the place and recognizing space.
