According to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, aesthetics are among the higher needs of humans. Despite being an essential characteristic of architecture, often villainized, one finds a relative silence on the matter of aesthetics in contemporary discourse. This research, thus, aims to locate where contemporary aesthetics emerge from by analyzing the works of contemporary architecture practices in India.
