Sanskar Kendra was a project with the vision to become the urban core and cultural centre of the city. The design analysis and the study of the intent of the clients and patrons establish that the building was premised on growth and could absorb the changes in its context. Although it initially failed to meet the expectations it was conceived with; it would be a loss of opportunity to ignore its relevance in its immediate context today. The current conservation frameworks seek to limit this possibility of change and growth, categorizing it as 'Modern Heritage'and therefore need to be challenged.
