The research focuses on finding empirical evidence of the relationship between traditional water structures and the public realm. Taking Kapadvanj as a case, it dwells into the urban morphology of the old town to decode the modes and means of generating public spaces and assessing the potential of water structure in doing the said. Parameters for the assessment are inferred and collated from 'Image of the City,' 'Design of Cities,' and 'Building and Dwelling Ethics for Cities,' while constantly leaning on scholarly works to situate the research.
