This study aims to trace the development of Cosmic attributes of Russian avant-garde within Zaha Hadid’s selected abstractions (Thumbnail sketches and Paintings). It provides an overview of its architectural translations. By employing two and three-dimensional diagrammatic modes of analysis, this study attempts to dissect Zaha Hadid’s paintings based on an established set of cosmic attributes extracted from the Russian avant-garde system. The importance and originality of this study lie in the method of sequential dissection of layers within each abstract painting giving a full-fledged analysis providing an opportunity to form connections between Hadid’s work and the Cosmic aspects of Russian avant-garde.
