This research explores the adaptive reuse of water infrastructure in Ahmedabad, focusing on Water Distribution Stations (WDS) and overhead tanks. Once vital civic utilities, these structures now lie underutilized within dense urban neighborhoods. The research aims to reimagine them as community-centric public spaces, integrating ecological functions, cultural relevance, and spatial adaptability. By studying historical evolution, urban context, and local practices, the project proposes interventions that foster social interaction, environmental sustainability, and inclusive urban regeneration. The DRP seeks to bridge infrastructure and public life, transforming forgotten urban elements into meaningful, responsive, and contextually rooted spaces.
