In recent years, technological advancements have revolutionized the craft landscape. Digital technologies, such as computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing, offer possibilities for experimentation and collaboration, blurring the boundaries between traditional craftsmanship and modern innovation. However, alongside these advancements, there is a growing recognition of the importance of preserving traditional craft practices and supporting artisan communities. As globalization and mass production threaten to overshadow traditional crafts, there is a renewed appreciation for handmade, artisanal products that embody authenticity, quality, and sustainability. Taking stone as a specific focus as material to stud craft in detail, this paper dives deep into the plausible future of crafts where either craftsperson or technology or both will prevail and how.
