The net GHG emissions have increased by around 43% in the last three decades, and the major contributor to this is the metropolitan cities. Therefore, to reduce GHG emissions we need to identify the sources of these emissions in cities. This directed research project aims to investigate and assess the type of data collected by cities of India, which can be potential indicators of their emissions. This study presents a generic framework of the parameters that can be used to calculate the GHG emissions for city municipal services, along with the guidelines for the municipalities to collect the data.
