This research project investigates outdoor lighting characteristics in Ahmedabad, India, utilizing field measurements and computational modeling to address light pollution concerns. Through real-world data collection and simulation using DIALux software, the study aims to quantify existing light pollution levels, assess lighting design impacts, and propose sustainable lighting solutions. By analyzing deviations from lighting standards and the relative contribution of different light sources, the project aims to inform strategies for optimizing lighting infrastructure, promoting energy efficiency, and minimizing light pollution in Ahmedabad's urban areas.
