To help introduce Sustainability in construction, the industry has proposed many frameworks, but there is a dearth of tools that help stakeholders quantify and understand the impact of their activities on sustainability, particularly in the construction phase of a building. The exploratory research was done using a literature review, and interviews with field experts led to a proposal of a sustainability assessment framework for the construction industry that can be incorporated with existing software. The framework has quantifiable parameters that help a user identify, track and measure sustainability targets dynamically, using a process based on life cycle assessment (LCA).
