This project addresses road safety on Indian National Highways in urban areas, using Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) to reduce accidents. It involves analyzing accident data from the eDAR portal, conducting field visits to identify hotspots, and integrating infrastructure upgrades with technology solutions. The outcome is a comprehensive road safety audit report, including blackspot analysis and mitigation plans. Meetings with NHAI executives inform recommendations for collaborative approaches merging infrastructure improvements with advanced technologies. The research aims to enhance transportation safety, foster economic growth, and improve societal well-being through a holistic approach.
