Aviation infrastructure projects are complex due to their large scale, strict regulations, and evolving environments, making robust risk management vital. This study aims to create a practical framework tailored to airport construction challenges through literature review, expert interviews, and a case study of an ongoing Indian airport expansion. It identifies key risk-prone areas—procurement, contracts, quality, safety, scheduling, and finance—and develops a detailed risk register using qualitative and quantitative analysis. The findings highlight gaps in compliance, documentation, and risk forecasting. The study calls for stronger controls, accountability, and proactive strategies to enhance execution, sustainability, and resilience in aviation infrastructure projects.
