This research paper concentrates on the safety of vehicular movement in work zones in India. The government has prioritised the development of the road network to meet the growing population's needs. However, upgrading existing roads without halting traffic poses safety risks to both road users and workers. The study was conducted in Ahmedabad and focused on three locations, collecting data primarily through photographs and drawings to analyse and update existing planning, implementation, and execution. The research aims to identify crucial phases of road construction that require attention to prevent major or fatal accidents in work zones. However, the safety of workers in these zones is not addressed in this study. The study's findings have the potential to improve the safety of both road users and workers in work zones in India. The research was conducted in accordance with established guidelines and best practices, using codal references and software. Overall, the study highlights the importance of safety measures in work zones and their crucial role in ensuring the safety of everyone involved. The research can serve as a valuable resource for policymakers and road construction workers to promote safer practices in work zones.
