This study article focuses on the topic of maintaining and protecting traffic, which includes managing demand, avoiding traffic jams in work zones, and rerouting traffic while keeping safety in mind. Signs and traffic control devices are required to finish this operation. Although making changes to roads is crucial for improving the transportation system, doing so can be risky for both drivers and workers. A research conducted in Ahmedabad focused on three areas and collected data on the design, implementation, and completion of road construction using drawings and photos. The research aimed to identify critical road construction sites that need to be attended to in order to prevent major or deadly accidents in construction zones. However, the safety of the workers in these zones was not examined in the study. The findings of the study have the potential to increase safety for both drivers and workers in construction zones across India. The study used software and codal references to ensure accuracy while adhering to acknowledged norms and suggested practices. The study emphasizes the need of safety precautions in work zones and their critical role in guaranteeing everyone's safety. Policymakers and those involved in road construction may find this research to be a useful resource in promoting safer work zone practices.
