Increase in frequency and intensity of heatwaves shows an increasing trend in heat stress experienced by vulnerable communities.  Therefore, it is essential to analyze the thermal stress to take mitigation measures and improve livelihood for communities. To study the heat stress, the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) Index is being utilized to assess the thermal comfort. This study focuses on mapping the UTCI for the city of Ahmedabad for the period of highest recorded temperature from March to May 2010.  Further specific LCZ(Local Climate Zones) sites are selected to analyze the difference in UTCI values, for different urban forms.
