Digital tools and advancements in technology play a major role in how design processes have evolved through time. This research is interested in exploring digital tools as a method of thinking; a conceptual tool rather than a technical one, and to understand how it has changed the designer’s approach to defining space. 
The paper tries to understand this notion in interior design specifically through the lens of ‘seams.’ Seams are interpreted as transitions between the parts used to create these spaces; how these assemblies are exaggerated or diminished through various details due to notions of seams and seamlessness. 

Through the course of the study, one understands how digital tools can complement a designer’s creativity and make their visions a reality. Also, how computers are being upgraded to being ‘collaborators’ and almost seamlessly connect various phases of the design process is studied. These new ideas and ways of working result in new forms with their own set of details and aesthetic.
