The Augmented Snack: Rethinking Pauses Through AR Interventions- Have you ever grabbed a quick snack just to power through a long workday—barely tasting it, hardly pausing? In today’s fast-paced world, breaks have become mechanical and joyless. This DRP, The Augmented Snack, explores how Augmented Reality (AR) can transform these tiny moments—snack breaks—into richer, more mindful experiences. Instead of seeing AR as just high-tech entertainment, the project looks at it as a tool to reconnect with everyday rituals. Through user studies and design experiments, it was found that AR-enhanced breaks lead to greater emotional engagement, curiosity, and even a sense of wonder. Rather than viewing technology as a distraction, The Augmented Snack sees it as a partner in creating small, meaningful moments in our day. In short, this project reimagines snacking not just as fuel, but as a chance to rest, reflect, and reconnect—with ourselves and our surroundings. Click here to access full resolution portfolio.
