This project studies the market side of housing sector of Mumbai Metropolitan Region. An empirical study based on qualitative and quantitative inquiry is made into the residential real estate market. The analysis of its evolution is done through the historical timeline concerning the triggers that have affected housing sector. This study is then narrowed to focus study areas, to understand their current housing scenario and future preferences for housing upgradation in a two-fold manner with the analysis of demand through primary surveys and supply through market study. Finally, these factors are related to understand the interlinkages and gauge future scenarios.
