Climate change awareness is growing, necessitating immediate action for increased resilience. Developing climate resilience in schools serves a dual purpose: constructing resilient social infrastructure and demonstrating resilience approaches to students. This project evaluates schools' readiness for climate resilience and explores the path to resilience. Kachchh was chosen for its vulnerability, and two schools were selected based on vulnerability levels. Using the Saksham Shala framework, the assessment identified areas for improvement, with many gaps addressable through administrative streamlining and capacity building. This highlights the potential for rapid improvement in national school infrastructure by focusing on these aspects, with long-term solutions addressing infrastructure and finance gaps.
