This research project explores the development and implementation of a citywide child-friendly Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) framework in Surat, India. It aims to assess and enhance child-friendly WASH infrastructure, considering rapid urbanization and persistent disparities in access. By reviewing global frameworks, policies, and initiatives, it identifies key principles for developing child-friendly WASH facilities. The report proposes a systematic approach to assess current infrastructure and identify areas for improvement, advocating for targeted interventions and policy recommendations to create inclusive, equitable, and child-centric urban environments in Surat.
