This research critically examines solid waste management (SWM) in Gujarat's small and medium towns, addressing challenges from climate change and rapid urbanization. Current SWM systems face increasing strain and often lack the capacity to handle growing waste volumes and mitigate environmental impacts. This study evaluates existing SWM practices across the waste value chain to identify key shortcomings. The project aims to formulate sustainable, climate-resilient solutions tailored to Gujarat's towns. These solutions will focus on minimizing emissions, promoting resource recovery, and enhancing SWM efficiency and resilience. Ultimately, the research seeks to support improved waste management and healthier urban environments.
