Gujarat, highly prone to natural disasters, faces significant risks due to its geography. Children, especially in schools, are among the most vulnerable. This study assesses disaster risk at the Block (Taluka) level by mapping hazards and vulnerabilities to develop a Composite Risk Index. It evaluates school adaptive capacity using the Saksham Shala Indicators Framework, a resilience initiative under Samagra Shiksha. By identifying gaps between regional risk and school resilience, the research offers insights and policy recommendations to enhance disaster preparedness, infrastructure, and inclusive strategies ,ensuring education continuity and child safety during crises in Gujarat
