This DRP explores the impact of transitioning from diversity to exclusivity on the spatial structure of cities. It aims to understand the dynamics of urban spatial structure, develop practical assessment tools, and examine the evolution of spatial organization. Focusing on six Indian cities, it analyzes census data using GIS and Remote Sensing techniques, employing measures such as density gradients, dispersion index, RSI, concentration-deconcentration measure. The findings indicate a gradual dispersal trend while maintaining compact city centers. The study offers comparative analysis and recommendations for urban planning, emphasizing the importance of expanding the analysis to other cities for a comprehensive database.
