The project focuses on revitalizing public spaces and managing parking in Sankadi Sheri, a key heritage precinct in Ahmedabad’s Walled City. As part of the UNESCO World Heritage City, the area faces challenges of congestion, informal activities, and poor public realm quality. The aim is to enhance the cultural and pedestrian experience by improving open spaces, ensuring efficient use of land, and managing overlapping functions like parking and street vending. Through site analysis, stakeholder engagement, and case studies, the project will propose design interventions and management strategies to balance heritage conservation with accessibility, livability, and inclusive urban development.
