In contemporary urban settings, public transit systems serve as vital links facilitating access to social connections, employment opportunities, and education within cities. However, urban India grapples with a notable gender gap in labor participation, particularly evident in the transportation sector. Historically, this sector has been unwelcoming to women, hindering their mobility and workforce diversity. In response, various transportation authorities nationwide are implementing initiatives to integrate gender perspectives and address women's needs. Through interdisciplinary research, this project seeks to dissect the complexities of these efforts.
