The pace of metro development in India is growing continuously. Despite this the ridership performance remains inconsistent and often below expectations. The disparity in ridership suggests the need for a more refined approach to planning and investment. The aim of the DRP is to evaluate the appropriate conditions under which cities should invest in metro rail systems. Thus, deriving a strategic insight for future metro rail investments in cities.
