This project focuses on enabling the sustainable transition to electric buses in the educational institution transport segment in India. While government policies have accelerated public sector adoption, private educational fleets still face operational, financial, and regulatory barriers. The study investigates current business models, policy gaps, and infrastructural challenges through data collection, stakeholder interviews, and policy review. Based on these findings, it proposes targeted recommendations ranging from innovative financing models and incentive structures to charging infrastructure strategies and institutional capacity-building. These recommendations aim to support decision-makers in educational institutions to adopt electric buses and contribute to India’s clean mobility goals.
