The studio works with the hypothesis that one of the ways to address this problem is to think through the lens of urban design, especially at the scale of the urban block and at the scale of the precinct. The studio foregrounds the aspects of urban form and urban design in the question of urban renewal. The vision for this project is to create not only a destination for the residents, but a vibrant, lively common ground for the neighborhood’s shaping of communities, and this project aims to tackle this on three different scales: the public (urban design), the building (architecture) and the human (interactive space) The site has the potential to strongly link multiple functions, thus becoming a new local centre and a multi-layered new urban plaza due to the influence of upcoming metro.
