THE NECK OF GIRAFFE _ABSTACTION | TECTONICS | FORM

THE NECK OF GIRAFFE is a viewing deck designed in tensile structure system. It is located in deserted region of Lakhpat Kutch, which has potential of becoming center of tourist attraction. The spiral form of viewing deck comes through the process of abstraction and tectonics of the neck movement of giraffe while doing various activities like fighting. The derived form has arrived through the process of refining abstraction by arriving at constant factors that defines the form which resembles the idea of abstraction. This helped in defining constant values to the variables which define its unique spiral form around 480degrees.

TECTONICS: Using Abstraction to develop and refine a form with help of tectonic expression of material. Through this stage we arrived at conclusion that the spiral form can best be supported with minimal use of material and energy in tensile structure system.
