NAUTILUS WATCHTOWER

The watchtower situated in Dang is the result of numerous iterative exercises that shaped its design process. Observations, iterations, and result generation were conducted to reflect the geometry and sound propagation within a seashell, employing both visual and tactile mediums (Form discovery through Abstraction). Rising 25 meters above a cliff amidst thick teak trees, this watchtower employs innovative design choices, notably devoid of vertical members. Instead, load transfer is achieved diagonally utilizing pre-fabricated I Beams, MS Pipes, and Tension rods.
