Vessel of Vitality: A Dual System for Seed Preservation

This project explores the design of a hybrid research facility composed of a mobile barge and a dry dock-based laboratory focused on seed preservation and regeneration. The barge serves as a vessel for collecting, storing, and cryopreserving seed varieties, while the dry dock operates as a core center for testing, environmental simulation, and regrowth studies. The design is informed by the linear workflow of seed labs, leading to a clear spatial hierarchy. Structural explorations from tensile systems to Voronoi and metaball-based forms help define circulation, containment zones, and spatial efficiency, resulting in a cohesive system for ecological research and preservation.
