Frame & Ruin

The archaeological museum is designed to minimally impact its historic surroundings, positioned near the Atak Gate, with the fort wall as a backdrop. Elevated and encased in a wireframe, the structure contrasts the historical site. The museum's layout includes open, multifunctional spaces at ground level, galleries for large sculptures, a digital gallery, and a café. The structure is highly transparent, allowing visitors to visually connect with the site, the ruins, and the boundaries between inside and outside blur. This transparency is key to the museum’s design- every space within the building is designed to be visually permeable.
