The Pilgrim's Ascent : An Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum at Champaner blends history, spirituality, and nature. Inspired by Atak Gate, its fort-like walls shield the museum, creating a sense of protection. The arched gateway aligns with Atak Gate, guiding pilgrims smoothly from the pedestrian track through rest spaces framing valley views. Brick fins and sloped timber rafters direct and shape views, while shaded pergolas offer meditative spaces. The design feels grounded and harmonious with the landscape using earthy materials like wood, brick, and stone. Visitors can walk along or atop the fort wall, experiencing its imposing scale while reflecting on Champaner’s rich history and beauty.
