Through the Arched Gate: A Fort Reborn

Welcome to this project, where the museum stands as an extension of the fort wall, seamlessly blending modern and traditional architecture. The design features stone walls, wooden beams, glass corners, and a striking glass bridge, creating a harmonious connection between history and contemporary elements. The program includes a café/kitchen, an amphitheater, three permanent galleries (paintings, coins, and sculptures), a temporary exhibit, and a watchtower. The design emphasizes exploration, with open-to-sky spaces, arches, and vantage points offering breathtaking views of the landscape and ruins. Visitors can move freely through semi-open pergolas and pathways, engaging with the site’s rich history, including its catapults. The glass corners and bridge provide a sense of transparency and lightness, balancing the solid mass of the stone structure. The watchtower, positioned above the fort wall, anchors the design across multiple levels, ensuring a dynamic and immersive experience that blurs the boundaries between architecture, nature, and history.
