The whole studio revolved around exploration of system under the realm of pouring, masonry, and assembly. The first exercise of the studio was to do case study of the three systems at hand. This gave us a variety of keywords which represent a particular characteristic of the system. This led to abstract modelling of the keywords. “Light and heavy” was the keyword which provoked various exploration of two system interaction in the design. The design concept strives to showcase the coexistence of contrasting qualities, emphasizing both lightness and heaviness simultaneously in terms of stereotomy and tectonic detailing.
