This studio primarily focuses on market dynamics and bylaws operating in Ahmedabad. In the studio, we completed three design quests, two of which involved the development of buildings in the transit-oriented zone and affordable housing, as well as one redevelopment project. The final design is addressing nowadays problems of vertical living, consisting of vertical interaction, strong community and open adjacent spaces within the housing units. In the previous pandemic, we all struggled with having open spaces within our homes, but nowadays, balcony spaces are disappearing in the rush to build additional unit spaces. By building duplex homes and playing on balconies, this has been accomplished.
