Gaushala: Conditioning through Contours

The project aims to provide housing for cows that is carefully monitored, yet the animal is unaware of the surveillance. This is done by modulating the ground to create layers of contours amidst which four housing units exist. The permeability of the units and the open ground beyond endorses freedom. However, the contours allow to direct movement of the cows through varying slopes that allow or disallow specific cow paths. With chokehold points dispersed through the contours, a system of valleys and ridges are created, that create 'conditioned movement'. This does away with restriction, providing freedom, yet enabling conformity.
