The project lies in the middle of urban Ahmedabad, surrounded by high-rises. At its center is a large open ground, a maidaan, a raw, uncurated breathing space of the city. To preserve this, the bank goes underground, imagined as a linear perimeter with elements projecting upward to slow movement. Minimal intervention is prioritized on ground. Skylights, lightwells, service blocks doubling as seating, play, or shade. These elements subtly shift the program of the space above. The plan was rotated, creating triangular pockets to allow the design to accomodate the informal nature of the maidaan above.
