The project proposal reimagines this notion of the Berlin Wall consisting of multiple ‘layers’ of security as physical strips of space. These layers are acted upon as being peeled, one after the other. Peeling allows one to sequentially reveal the different layers. It explores these spatial strips and gives a distinct experiential quality to each, differing in terms of levels, transparency, materiality, etc. At the center of this circumferential space is located a Watch Tower; it acts as an observation deck, offering panoramic views of the Brandenburg Plaza, the Tiergarten, the Eisenman Memorial as well as the Reichstag.
