TERI centre - Jaisalmer

The centre responds to the hot and dry climate of Jaisalmer through the following strategies; The envelope of the Jali and the Tensile roof which blocks radiation and provides sufficient daylight. The atomizers and the exhaust fans cool the space while avoiding hot south west winds. The central green atrium enhances the wind movement, produced by the cooling system, and provides diffused light to the functions. The material choice for minimum conductive heat gain was lime plaster and brick for the inner walls and AAC for the envelope.
