Revitalization of Abhay Mitro Street

The project envisions revitalizing Abhay Mitro Street as a vibrant, culturally rich, and people-centric space by restoring its historic architectural character and fostering community engagement. Guidelines will address the restoration of traditional building facades and integration of contemporary design, illustrated through two interventions: redesigning an apartment typology to harmonize with traditional courtyard houses and restoring the façade of the historic Sharma residence. Encroachments will be relocated, and pedestrian spaces activated to enhance interactions. This proposal celebrates ungated community settlements and shared street concepts, ensuring Abhay Mitro Street regains its historic identity while adapting to contemporary urban needs.
