Can craft be a reminiscence of lives once lived? In a world where inflation and industrialization have made it difficult to sustain a livelihood by 2040, the younger generation of artisans and craftsmen have turned to new job opportunities to secure higher incomes to meet their basic needs. Therefore, traditional craftsmanship and the presence of skilled craftsmen have become rare or extinct. This loss resulted in the decline of craft knowledge and skilled craftsmen. What if we celebrate traditional crafts in a space where future generations can rediscover and appreciate craft culture? The museum, “The Artisans Legacy”, features five galleries, each meticulously designed to highlight the essence of craft knowledge, taking visitors on a journey through history and reigniting appreciation for craftsmanship. In these galleries, visitors can delve into the multifaceted nature of craft, exploring its utilitarian applications, its ability to evoke nostalgia, its role as a medium for artistic expression, its capacity to reflect the essence of specific regions, and its innovative through experimentation with materials. This space offers an immersive experience, prompting visitors to reflect on and confront the question: ‘WHAT WE HAVE LOST IN CRAFT?’
