A Place for Veena Makers

The projectis dedicated to the design of a facility for Veena makers in Thanjavur. As the craft of veena-making gains recognition, an increasing number of tourists are visiting to observe the making process. This initiative aims to consolidate various aspects of veena production under one roof, showcasing the history of the instrument and displaying as well as selling different types of veena. Visitors will have the opportunity to witness the crafting process firsthand, thereby enhancing their understanding of this musical instrument. The program emphasizes how the sequence of crafting an instrument can contribute to the development of a conducive built environment in the case of my project the " Frets of Veena".Detailed studies have been done on the instrument-making process starting from Tabla to Veena to grasp the sequence of actions involved, the nature of the activity, and its spatial requirements, taking into account anthropometric considerations.
