Harmonising Craft and Space

This project creates a space for veena makers in Thanjavur, celebrating their craft while inviting visitors to experience it. Inspired by the qualities of music, the design features a movement pattern that mirrors rhythm and flow, with intentional pauses and transitions. Visitors move through workshops, courtyards, exhibition areas, and performance spaces, each offering moments to pause, observe, and engage. The layout encourages connection with the craft, allowing tourists to appreciate the veena-making process while maintaining a respectful and immersive experience, all within a harmonious and dynamic environmen
