The Wetland's Call : Nandur Madhmeshwar

The Wetlands Call:
A Landscape Management Plan for Nandur Madhmeshwar Bird Sanctuary

Nandur Madhmeshwar is more than a Ramsar site—it's a living, breathing mosaic of marshes, scrublands, and open waters that echo with the rhythms of migratory and resident birds. But behind this vibrant scene lies a fragile balance—one threatened by habitat shifts, invasive species, agricultural pressures, and the quiet fading of ecological roles.

"The Wetlands Call" is a response to this delicate moment. It is a landscape management vision that listens deeply—to the birds, the land, the water, and the communities who live by them.

By mapping interdependent habitats, rethinking vegetation patterns, and integrating local agricultural practices, this project aims to restore balance, protect biodiversity, and create a thriving space where people and wildlife coexist.

It is not just a plan—it's a call to care, to observe, and thus proposes a zoned management strategy that revives diverse wetland ecologies and reimagines the sanctuary as a living classroom for eco-tourism and education.
