In this project, the government is on trial, where on one side the government claims that the communities do not have substantial knowledge of architecture and hence they (govt.) know what is best for the communities, whereas on the other side this project conveys that the community’s knowledge of architecture will be better developed through interaction with the structures and their involvement through participatory design. The design is a take on Urban furniture where it consists of 2 parts - Static and Dynamic:- - Static: Represents the developmental histories and the spatial strategies of the communities along with this corresponding urban fabric - Dynamic: Represents User choice and involvement where the users have the freedom to design their own space (through modular blocks/stools inspired by legos and puzzles), where the space and its character changes according to the needs and requirements of the users. The design can be modified and placed in multiple places throughout the city as a point of engaging the community and developing spatial sensitivities in them.
