“The Axis” is developed in response to the Grand Paris initiative that aims to connect the suburbs of Paris with the center and other regions. The site of intervention is situated in the Il-de-France region. The north combines nature into urban fabric with the help of art and culture and the south proposes an interactive environment to engage people in community activities. These approaches are strengthened by using intentions of connecting east-west, privileging soft mobility and intensifying the greenspaces. The conceptual sections are the key element in our design approach. The 4 varying conceptual sections are taken from critical points in the site – “Suspended Garden”, “ Green Hybrid”, “Viaduct Corridor”, “Riverfront Park”.
